Your Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form According to the Zodiac Sign
The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the community. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the game's release, to players forming firm views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for fans to anticipate.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a strong ally; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their side to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unashamed love of snacks. Many previous official descriptions note their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it everything, which is true Taurus energy.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Look at this total royalty. You cannot tell me this creature is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wish to listen. Just like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s official description also states its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Gemini.
Cancer – Super Manectric
Cancer is commonly regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol known for often becoming wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also recognized for its ability to create a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was going to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this creature's whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are numerous Libras who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. However, to be frank, it would probably just make them stress more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through pure resentment and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “playful small jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to foresee disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to always think they’re right. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is possibly the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's overall intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's description says it “absorbs hatred and converts it into strength.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
