NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard on designated networks for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , after recent talk about two top teams as possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was good to see how Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall before direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

Denver have the top defender in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders but they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season well then did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His assets include his movement, being able to pass while moving, as well as using varied release points to deliver throws as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and makes the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defense has to cover the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really build something up the way he desires to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a championship and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do versus the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the West.

This hinges on what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
