Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to enhance its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more preparing to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a domestically developed system known as “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Iranian-made drones. The system underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Recent Attack on the Capital Characterized as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault on Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and brutal” after six individuals were killed and dozens injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in the capital shortly after midnight this past Friday, with enemy UAVs quickly heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

Zelenskyy reported the nation was targeted by hundreds of UAVs and multiple missiles. Those killed were at home in an apartment building on Kyiv’s left bank when it was hit. Numerous of additional structures were damaged, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

International Objection After Diplomatic Compound Destruction

The Azerbaijani government said it issued a formal objection to Moscow's diplomatic representative this past Friday after the embassy damage. Kyiv's Strikes Focus on Moscow's Oil Facilities

Moscow's maritime terminal of the port city temporarily suspended oil exports this past Friday – equivalent to 2% of global supply – after a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Military commanders in Kyiv said its military had fired Neptune cruise missiles and used multiple kinds of strike drones in the attack on Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor.”

Ukrainian forces separately struck an oil refinery in the Saratov area and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels overnight.

International Sanctions Affect Russian Energy Company

The number two energy company Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with potential buyers regarding its international holdings after recent restrictions from Western nations and failure of a deal with commodity trader Gunvor. “The specific deal are to be disclosed once conclusive negotiations are completed and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” Lukoil commented.

Ukrainian President Schedules Diplomatic Trip to Spanish Capital

The Ukrainian leader will visit the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Tuesday to meet with lawmakers following his trip to France, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. The Ukrainian president will convene with deputies from both chambers of the legislature throughout his stay, the Spanish statement confirmed.
