Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
