Emma Raducanu wraps up this year's campaign and will keep trainer through next year.
The British player advanced to round three in three of the four major tournaments during the season.
The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions of the year as a result of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.
The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but opted to return home to rest and recuperate before starting her preparations for 2026.
Her upcoming training will include coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating again next season.
Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
She again required medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.
She was also playing noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.
These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.
Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.
The player achieved 28 victories in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.
As Britain's top player made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.
Her coach was Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.
The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.
She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.
The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.
Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
