The United Kingdom is ready to advance with employing the total value of frozen Russian holdings to support Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They clarified that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

UK sanctions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government began its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, until now, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russian assets had exclusively been drawn from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their desire to advance efforts toward employing the total worth of the immobilized Russia's state assets to conclude the conflict.

He added that further sanctions over the next period would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This statement comes after EU representatives convened in Copenhagen previously to consider using seized Russia's holdings for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or utilize frozen Russian assets, based on news outlets.

The total of immobilized Russian assets in the Europe is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow executed widespread bombardments across Ukraine on that day, causing electricity outages in many areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Two people were fatally injured and at least 20 people were wounded in the assault, Ukrainian officials said.

In a post on social media subsequent to the strike, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at public and utility structures.

"What is required is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the America, EU, and the seven nations - in supplying air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions undermines Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to reporters he would urge Sir Keir to join the Purl scheme, under which alliance members buy military equipment from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the program, as well as apply additional sanctions on Russia.
