Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US actor Pat Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
